Scholarships

At EMU our aim is to create scholarship opportunities that are beneficial to the giver, the recipient, and the community as a whole.

Our Philosophy

We desire that all kids in our community can attend a quality, Christian school at a price they can afford. We also believe that people take a greater level of ownership when they pay for it themselves. Therefore, EMU has a scholarship fund that is used to lower (not eliminate) the cost of a student to attend school. Every parent pays something for their child to attend school. Then scholarships given towards that child's class helps reduce the price for every qualifying student in that class.

At EMU, you scholarship a class as opposed to an individual student, which means you can impact 30 lives instead of just one!

FAQ's

Can I scholarship a specific child?
At EMU, we believe it is more beneficial to give towards an entire class than an individual student. This is to help with issues of fairness, protecting the student and donor, as well as creating less administrative work for the organization.

What are the requirements for a child to receive a scholarship?
In order for a child to qualify for a scholarship they must display Christlike behavior, have a high attendance rate, work diligently in class, and their parents must attend all parents' meetings.

What does it cost to attend school at Equip Primary School?
It costs about $15 USD per month or $180 per year for a child to attend Equip Primary School. A full class can be scholarshiped at $450 a month or $5,400 per year. This includes two meals a day on site, and all scholastic material and a quality, Christian education.

As a monthly scholarship donor, what relationship do I get with the class I support?
As a monthly donor, EMU will work to set up periodic video calls with the class you scholarship. (Pending time zone and stable internet). As able, the students will write letters to you. If you travel to visit EMU during a school term, you can meet the class in person!

Can I give via check?
Yes! Checks can be written to Equip Ministries Uganda and sent to P.O. Box 621102, Oviedo FL 32762. All giving is tax deductible.
